The TechSet is a Hollywood Hit!

TechSet_LA.jpgI’m just about to check out of the Hotel Roosevelt and head to the airport for a flight to SFO. It has been an eventful week here in LA. The TechSet Hollywood event and the TechCrunch/PopSugar party were both successful gatherings of the best and brightest in the industry.

I was so impressed with all the fine individuals I met here. There are too many to name, but you can see the story via my pictures on Flickr. LA is a new scene for me. But not for my partner in crime Brian Solis. He wrote an great re-cap of the growth of the tech community here in LA.

Content is King - especially here in LA. I predict that internet content developers will continue to gravitate to this town and explore the synergies that explode when technology meets the entertainment industry. I for one am excited to plan my next trip here. Stay tuned for more about Digital Hollywood (coming up in May)!

Big thanks to everyone who attended. We look forward to our next gathering in Silicon Valley on 4/20. Hope to see you there.

In essence, the Techset is you.

Good People Day - April 3, 2008

Gary Vaynerchuk is good people. In addition to WineLibrary.TV, Gary hosts an inspirational show at GaryVaynerchuk.com that reminds me regularly to count my blessings and remember the BPP. Tonight Gary announced a FlashHoliday (thanks @pistachio).

Watch it here.

Tomorrow I celebrate all the good people in my life.

The truth is, my whole life is about good people and I try hard to meditate on that every single day. The success I have had in business is solely due to the good people I surround myself with. And ultimately, I care more about the people than the business. I guess that’s why I succeed.

To put a list of all the good people I appreciate and care about would be impossible. My friends, family, and cherished colleagues that give me strength, love and support mean everything to me. Really - I know you know who you are. I do my best to tell you and show you regularly. I am grateful for each and every one of you.

Money, career success, big home, fancy car? Means NOTHING! Good energy people are everything. For me, success is defined by how much LOVE you share!!! That’s it. Thanks for the reminder @garyvee.

Namaste my friends (the light in me honors the light in you).

SXSW Video Round Up: Cathy Brooks Does the Reveal.

It was an absolute pleasure and honor to interview Cathy Brooks, Executive Producer at Seesmic in the SXSW Bloghaus, sponsored by AMD and b5 media. Cathy served on the steering committee for the conference. In this video she talks about how she maximized the show - personally and professionally.

Cathy is full of amazing energy, and an inspiration to entrepreneurs and artists in the Valley and beyond. Plus - as one of the leading female experts in social media and content, we give her huge props. Seesmic is still in closed beta, so go to the site and request an invite - or email Cathy directly (if you’re an instant gratification kind of guy or gal): cathy (at) seesmic (dot) com.

Watch the video until the end you’ll get to see the fab shirt she’s wearing. We love ya Cath!

@sxswbloghaus Bloggers come in but they don’t get out!

SXSW Interactive is off and running. Characterized by some as “Spring Break for Geeks”, the best and brightest in social media and online strategy have descended on on Austin, TX (which we all know is the killer app - see picture above).

It’s 10:15 AM - the bloghaus isn’t officially open yet, but already we’ve got a bunch of cool people hanging: @davidparmet @maggiefox @gapingvoid @heiko @technosailor @1938media. They just keep streaming in!

Sponsored by AMD and b5media, the room is full of rock stars, refreshments and rebel blogers.

PLEASE COME BY: Get to the 3rd FLOOR and then look for ROOM 7. You can also check out EVERYTHING on sxswbloghaus.com and on the Twitter channel.

The BlogHaus TV Channel on Mogulus will also be live streaming throughout the day.

It’s a furry of activity. Social objects everywhere. Come join in on the fun.
