You cannot visit California without visiting one of its glorious beaches! These beaches stretch from North to South in the great state. With literally hundreds of beaches to choose from, it is not hard to catch a little bit of sun on your vacation. Central and Northern California do get a little bit cool in the Winter months, so you may want to head south if you are planning to travel during those months. National Parks

California is known for having some of the best national parks in the world. Among them are Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park. These two parks are interconnected, and they are located in the Sierra Navada. Known for their giant Sequoia trees, the area is home to the General Sherman Tree. This is the largest tree on Earth! There are also cave excursions to the famous Crystal Cave. For those who prefer their hiking above ground, the park is also the home to Mount Whitney. The top of this mountain is the highest point in the 48 contiguous United States. There is no shortage of things to enjoy in this wonderful spot of nature!

Landmarks

California is packed with landmarks! Probably the most famous is the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Other landmarks include the Hollywood sign, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Beverly Hills all in Southern California. These are amazing areas to spend a day touring history about the film industry. Beverly Hills is also one of the premiere shopping destinations on the West Coast! If you want to feel like you could walk down your own red carpet, this is definitely the place to visit!

Theme Parks

California is also home to some of the world’s most famous theme parks. Disney Land, Lego Land, and Universal Studios all have parks in California. One of the least known parks is Knott’s Berry Farm located in Buena Park, California. This park is a total of 160 acres. While it may not have the reputation of Disney World, it was actually the number 12 most visited theme park in North America in 2015. This is a wonderful option for families who do not want to brave the crowds at some of the other parks!
