How to Get Funding For Your Business
I began a start up around 3 years ago with my friend Dean Kirkland Vancouver WA resident like myself and lifelong friend. During that time we were hearing many negative statistics coming out about start ups and the worrying rate at which they fail. My colleague and I therefore decided that in ordered rot best avoid the failure which happens to most start ups, that we would ensure that we were armed to the teeth with funding and investment for our new business idea. The biggest cause of failure in business usually comes down to finances and I would recommend that you follow our lead if you have a business idea which you are looking to get off the ground.
If you are looking for funding for your business, here is how to get it.
Angel Investment
Investors all over the world are on the lookout for the next great start up idea and if you have something which you think that they could benefit from, you can secure yourself the funding that you have been looking for. Angle investors willed to know that you have a clear vision for your business and ultimately they will want to know exactly how they are going to make money from their investment in you. When you have a meeting with investors like this you must have a solid business plan and be able to instill confidence in them. In return for their investment you will usually have to give over some of your company to the investor or investors.
Bank Loan
Ever since businesses have existed, there have been banks to lend money to them and this is still a highly popular option for businesses who are trying to get started. Banks will offer highly favorable loan terms such as weighting the payments towards the end of the loan term in order to give you the best chance to pay it back. Banks want you to be successful as if you are, you will continue your custom with them. For this reason a bank will give you a business manager who will be able to help you to navigate your way through the first years in business.
Funds and Grants
In order to put together your war chest of finances, you should look for every bit of money available that you can and a great place to start is to check out grants and funds which you can tap into. Our business is science based and we were able to secure a small boost in our finances from a government-backed scheme which looks to encourage businesses to work in the science sector. Now, the money which we secured was nowhere near enough on its own, but it did help us to form a strong financial foundation from which to launch our business. Make sure that you do your research online to see what funding options are available to you.
There is plenty of money out there for businesses, you just need to be creative when looking for it.
